About us
Faith and friendship: Our church in Kents Hill, Milton Keynes
Sunday service 9.30am every Sunday, Frithwood Crescent, Kents Hill MK7 6HQ
Situated right in the heart of our local community, Christ the King Community Church in Kents Hill, Milton Keynes, is a place of genuine connection, worship, friendship and community. We are a church for everyone. What unites us is a desire to learn more about Jesus, follow his example and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, bring healing where there’s hurt and join in the work of making the world a better place.
We aren’t perfect and we don’t pretend to be. We are simply a group of people walking together, honest in all our messiness, trying to live out a faith that is loving, forgiving, powerful, inclusive and kind. Although we often stumble on our journey of life and faith, we know we are accepted by an amazing God who freely loves and forgives us.
We’d love you to join us here. Whether you call yourself a Christian or not, you are very welcome. You don’t even have to have picked up a Bible before. We want to help everyone learn more about Jesus and grow their relationship with God, wherever you are on your faith journey.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28)
More than Sunday
For us, church isn’t a building (though we do have a nice one!) and it isn’t just about Sunday mornings. We believe that church is the people and church ‘happens’ around tables, in conversation, in prayer, in shared meals and when we walk alongside each other. Just as it did with the early disciples.
Our church life includes a range of activities designed to make a positive difference to our church community and our neighbours in and around the Kents Hill area:
For exploring faith
Community drop-ins, Alpha course, life groups, Chat n Pray with the pastor, Ink and Spirit Christian book club, lent courses, Eric’s prayer group, Julian meetings, Lent and Advent courses
For wellbeing support
Renew Cafe, Warm Space, community drop-ins, prayer, King’s Men men’s group
Social events
Coffee mornings, Renew Cafe, Christian book club, King’s Men men’s group, pub lunches, youth groups, summer fete
Life events
Child baptisms, dedications and thanksgiving; believers’ baptisms; weddings, vow renewals and marriage blessings; funerals, memorials and celebrations of life
We also enjoy leading a monthly service at our local care home and connecting with schools in the area throughout the year.
We’re here for you
Christ the King Community Church is a supportive and encouraging church. Pastor Ian and our team of stewards are the leadership of the church and are here to help with any questions or concerns. For pastoral support, Ian and our pastoral care team are ready to offer a listening ear, support and prayerful encouragement, reflecting the love and care we ourselves receive from God.
Stronger together: our ecumenical roots
As an ecumenical church we believe there is strength in unity, shared effort and mutual support.
We bring together a number of Christian denominations under one roof, Baptist, Methodist, United Reformed and Church of England (with other denominations represented in our congregation), and share a modern, purpose-built church building with a Catholic congregation. We are also part of the Walton Churches Partnership, a local ecumenical network of churches working together to serve the larger Walton Parish area. Other churches in the partnership are All Saints in Milton Keynes Village, St Mary’s in Wavendon and Church without Walls, which meets in the Broughton and Brooklands areas of Milton Keynes.
A (very little) bit of history
The church is a modern, accessible, purpose-built building based in the centre of Kents Hill, MK7. Building work started in 1991 as part of a new development area and the first service took place in our church in 1993. The design allows space to be shared by Protestant and Catholic congregations for worship and community life. We’re very close to Kents Hill Park, Walnut Tree, Kingston and the Open University, so we’re in a great location for anybody looking for a church in Milton Keynes to call home.
Got questions?
Great, we love questions. We may not always have all the answers but we provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore faith at your own pace. If you’re already a committed Christian, that’s great too. Christ the King is a place to grow in faith and find new ways to put your faith into action.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matt 7:7)
Come and see us...
