Young Church & Families
A family-friendly church in Kents Hill, Milton Keynes
We’re a family-friendly church where children and teenagers are just as much a part of our church family as the adults. We love the energy, curiosity and life they bring to our community!
We believe that church should be a place where young minds can ask big questions, build lasting friendships and discover their unique place in God’s heart. Whether through our Sunday groups or mid week activities, we are committed to supporting our younger generation as they grow, learn and find their voice.
The wellbeing and inclusion of our young people is vital to us. Our leadership team includes a dedicated Children and Youth Advocate to champion their interests and keep them at the heart of church life.
All volunteers across our church partnership working with children, teenagers and others who are vulnerable, are DBS-checked. We also have a safeguarding policy which you can read here.
Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord. (Psalm 127:3)
What happens on a Sunday?
Depending on the type of service, our children and teenagers either head out to their own groups or stay with our church family for the full service.
On those Sundays when the kids and youth groups are running, we spend the first 10 minutes worshipping together. It’s a wonderful way for our younger members to feel right at home as a valued part of the wider church family. For special services, such as Communion, Cafe Church and our all-age services, we love being together as a complete church family. Please see our Services page for more about these services.
Sunday activities for our younger members
Little ones
(Ages 0–3)
Babies and toddlers can either stay with you in the main church area throughout the service, or you can play together in the narthex (the lobby) where there are lots of toys to keep your little one entertained. We have speakers in the narthex so you are still very much part of the service.
CtK Kids
(Ages 4+)
At CtK Kids we want children to know that Jesus is their friend and God loves them. We bring Bible stories to life in a way that children understand and enjoy, and explore Jesus’s life through a range of fun activities and chat. Takes place 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month.
CtK Youth
(Secondary School age)
In CtK Youth, we explore faith in a real and honest way, without the churchy jargon. It’s interactive, creative and very informal, and connects with the things that are important to teenagers and their lives. Takes place 2nd Sunday of the month.
Week day activities
We have three weekday groups for fun, creativity and friendship:
Relax Teens
Relax Teens is a Friday youth club for teenagers, held here in Kents Hill, where the focus is on hanging out with friends and having fun. Activities include table football, air hockey, board games, watching movies and sometimes eating pizza! We end with a relaxed chat about faith and real life.
Zoom Kids
Zoom Kids is run by Church without Walls, one of the churches in our Walton Churches Partnership. It’s an opportunity for children of primary age to meet friends and learn about Jesus through games, crafts and fun. Held in Broughton. All children welcome but it’s very popular so please book.
Children’s choir
For children age 7 upwards. Run by Walton Churches Partnership, which we are part of, and held at All Saint's Church in MK Village. The choir sings a mixture of hymns with the occasional songs thrown in. Parents welcome to stay, make friends and drink tea/coffee. Fully inclusive.
